In November 2017, Ian Byrne was awarded the BSI International Standards Maker Award, following his success in steering ISO 50047 “Energy Savings Calculations in Organizations” to publication.
One of just three winners, the citation said that “The BSI International Standards-Maker Award is presented to Ian for his outstanding dedication and contribution to energy management standards. Ian has a passion for sustainability and the impact standards have in this sector. He is well-respected by his national and international peers and is often sought after by other countries for his expertise in this field of standards development”.
Ian has been active in standards development at the European and international (ISO) levels since 2007.
